Previous experience: Boxing is the main one, still currently train and spar when I can find the time with an instructor who is also a 5th Dan in ninjutsu and a current kickboxing champion. Also currently train with two instructors from the bujinkan at least twice a week when | can find the time. They are both 5th Dans and above who are excellent at what they do and have real practical experience of the Art, they can walk the walk, etc. I currently hold a Sports Science degree from John Moores university, along with other qualifications from other universities.

The system is an excellent Art, that is both practical and functional and will prevail in most realistic situations. There are some fights that you can never win. The classes are very informative and well run. I have perhaps gained more from these classes than training for years in other martial arts or other instructors. I believe that I am fortunate to have met my current instructor (Paul Genge), this was a lucky coincidence. He has given me an insight into the teachings of Vladimir etc.,and the system. I really believe that my life will never be the same again. The system is very functional in its approach and the masters obviously a very good understanding of the mechanics of the human body. There is no mystery, magic, etc,honestly. It is really that simple! If anyone doubts the system, why not come and try it for yourself and train with Paul or another instructor. I will gladly meet with anyone on a one to one basis and demonstrate the effectiveness of the art and even spar with. There always those people who doubt. Be warned, I know what I am talking about:

I grew up in a council estate in a place called Dundalk, Ireland. To the best of my knowledge the current King of the Gypsies of Britain and Ireland comes from there and people tell me that he is a friend of my brother. The last white heavy weight boxing champion of the world came from the same place. The most famous Celtic warrior was born and raised there, Cu-hullain. At one time the most dangerous place for a British soldier to be based in the world was South Armagh, it is only 4 miles away in places.

Recently I attended an three day intensive training course at Paul Genge's Systema School, the course was informative, demanding, rewarding and enjoyable. I found Paul to be professional in his approach to teaching as well as training, Paul over the three days managed to convey to me the "essence" of Systema.

Systema has to be experienced to be truly appreciated and I felt as though I had experienced it on Paul's the three day course. I would personally recommend that anyone wanting to "try" Systema should talk to Paul. Anyone who is skeptical about the effectiveness of Systema or its training methods should try out Paul's club. I have incorporated some of what Paul shared with me into my own personal training regime as well as what I teach at my Club.
